WTF - Not in NC

By Nathan at June 28, 2008 - 11:54pm | General

In RALEIGH, N.C. they have passed a ruling that sates that if your license plates have the letters WTF on them you can now turn them in and get new plates free.
I don't know about you but I wouldn't just keep them, I'd get a spot light on my car so everyone could read it when I drove in to get gas.

Scott's Rant of the Week

By lightchaser at May 12, 2008 - 4:16pm | General

I agree totally. Maybe if the Ghostly Talk crew was going to ghost haunting on the Titanic, that might be Press-Release Worthy....Other wise, nowadays announcing going ghost hunting is trivial non-news.

Dr. Nichols Interview on Ghostly Talk

By wipsi at May 9, 2008 - 6:57am | General

Hello all. I just listened to the archived show that contained the interview with Dr. Nichols and it was great (as all of the Ghostly Talk shows are).

I did find it interesting that Dr. Nichols suggested that ghost hunters/paranormal researchers should discard their EMF meters and GMF meters and other equipment and take a more social science/case recording approach. I am in agreement with Dr. Nichols on the fact that a social science/case recording approach would be a beneficial added approach to investigating reports of paranormal activity.

However, I certainly do not agree with getting rid of EMF meters and other equipment. Why? Here are a few things to consider in regards to EMF meters and fields:

1. If one reads the articles published by Dr. Nichols on his website (which can be found at http://www.parapsychologylab.com/articles.htm) one will see that Dr. Nichols has and still does use equipment during his research.

2. Detailed information with regards to EMFs and GMFs at haunted vs. non-haunted would indicate that there are anomalies found at haunted locations that don't seem to be present at non-haunted locations. This type of field work has recently been done by Dr. Jason Braithwaite.

3. In lab studies (Dr. Michael Persinger) have shown that certain frequency and amplitude modulated fields can induce one to have 'paranormal-like' experiences.

4. Even if these 'anomalous fields' are found to have a natural cause (bad wiring, bad shielding, etc..), I think it would be good to determine if they are present in locations with reported paranormal activity in order to rule it out as an explainable cause for the activity. What would be the point of documenting a case which might have a perfectly natural explanation? This would only lead to more 'weak' evidence.

Of course there is a right and wrong way to collect this data. But as long as it is collected and analyzed in the proper way I do think it is still useful to gather.

Take care all........

By JNLA at February 18, 2008 - 5:35pm | General

I'm one of your long time listeners and just wanted all of you at Ghostly Talk to know how much I enjoy the independent music you play on your show. Even though I'm most interested in the paranormal it is so cool to see you guys supporting these artists. And it doesn't just stop at listening to your show. I have purchased songs from these artists through iTunes and their websites after hearing their music on your show. So, your promotions do pay off for these artists. Lately, I've been into your Alienxss music. You guys run a fantastic website and talk show. It is so appreciated from this listener.

A theory I just wanted to share

By Witchcrest at February 2, 2008 - 1:34am | General

In the last show on the 27th talking with John Zaffis they were talking about a thinning between our world and the other world. I had a theory about why that could be happening but this is purely speculation and I would love your views on this. I like to watch a lot of the discovery channel and one time they had this show about polar flipping: an event where the magnetic poles flip and 'cause many alterations in the world but then everything goes back to normal and this is an aparently normal , natural thing that happens which they had found evidence of in volcanic rocks. Well my theory is that this polar flipping is causing things like the ozone hole (which they said happened before the last time this happened) and the thinning between our world and the next. Well thinking of all this and the 2012 thing, maybe the climax or whatever of the polar flipping will happen in 2012 and the line between worlds will be almost if not completely blurred at that time.

Here's a good article about polar flipping so maybe more people could elaborate what I've said 'cause maybe someone else can understand it better than I can:

http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/09/0927_040927_field_flip.html

I would love to know your takes on this please.

After last week's show, I wanted to share a book I love with you all. It's called Tamsin by Peter S. Beagle(author of The Last Unicorn). It's written for young adults and is set in England.

It's a coming-of-age story of a 13 year old girl who is suddenly has to move with her family from New York to a 300 year old spooky farm house in England. Of course, it has a ghost and also a lot of fun supernatural (zooform, cryptozoilogical?)creatures from UK folklore. Boggarts, pookas, the wild hunt, the black dog...I'm still not sure what the billy blind is, but it's so fun. I have listened to the audiobook a couple of times at work, which is read by the author. I love how he does the voices.

You can get it or check out the plot summary & reviews at amazon.com:

If you run across any good books, I'd love to hear about them!
Thanks!

Parnormal State show

By caniswalensis at January 2, 2008 - 1:36pm | General

I have seen 4 episodes of this show so far, and I am not at all impressed.

The members of PRS strike me as sincere, caring individuals. They seem like the type of people you would want to have for friends. I do however feel like they are quick to head down the "paranormal path" without thinking critically about what they are being told & experiencing. Even if this is a result of editing a 30 minute show, it is still a failure. They edit their show in a way that makes what they are doing look dubious. That is a disservice to their clients and reflects badly on the paranormal community at large.

I could be wrong and would like to hear from others about any positive points for this show.

Thanks, Canis

Spiricom / Spiricon question answered ?.. gagged now or what ???

By Narabic at January 1, 2008 - 11:20pm | General

Hello fellow Ghostly Talk folks, I don't usually get involved in posting on forums.. it usually is too frustrating for me, what with all the time delays and collective misperceptions of each of our intended thoughts compromised by sterile text.. not all of us are great authors !

It seems that the questions regarding the validity of the offered record of Spiricom, which in my opinion, from checking out the lively Ghostly Talk debate show of Dec. 9, may have somehow triggered the questioning material offered on the Ghostly Talk forum to go away.

Am I missing something..??? Has this been satisfactorily clarified ??? Oh and here's something to ponder.. maybe some of you folks will agree with me on this.. how about we as a group, ask Mark Macy to do us the great honor of sharing his personal phone call, which he claims he received from the deceased ( at the time of receiving this call ) Dr. Konstantin Raudive.

Mark Macy has had the rare privilege of witnessing first hand, such miraculously amazing things, that I am sure it's not realistic for us to expect him to be able to prove it. I think if Mr. Macy just shares this amazing phone call with us, we will have to face the fact that he is someone we all should at least consider taking on faith. I for one have witnessed first hand, countless things that most people have much trouble with facing, and I am only a fairly ignored ITC experimenter, willing to share what I find..

Please join with me in asking that Mr.Macy comes back on the show, without the added trouble of having to deal with earthly limiting distracting skeptical questioning, posed upon him live.. so he is able to peacefully share this amazing bit of historic I.T.C.evidence with us all. I've only heard a short bit of what Mr. Macy's claims is a thirteen minute interactive phone call from the deceased Dr. Raudive, and what I heard was most impressive.

In fact, it was Mark Macy's interview on Coast To Coast AM with Art Bell back in 1998, where he presented a short bit of this call, which instantly propelled me head first into I.T.C. with an instant fever !!! I think this would be a magnificent way for us to get a slight glimpse into the rare level of amazing I.T.C.experience that Mark Macy has been chosen for, or otherwise been blessed enough to be part of.

Happy New year all.. let's get this year going strong !

Please contact Mr. Macy through the worlditc.org website..

Thanks you... Brian J.

PS : I am going to write Mark Macy as soon as I post this !

Ghostly Talk subliminal message

By Whiplash at December 26, 2007 - 12:08pm | General

During the new Ghostly Talk t-shirt advertisement, I can hear a voice that sounds like Doug whispering something in the background while Scott L is talking...It's right when "When The Saints Go Marching In" starts playing.

What is he saying, and why are you trying to hypnotize me? Grrrrr

John Hutchison and Bill Knell

By Whiplash at December 26, 2007 - 12:03pm | General

First I would like to say that I think it would be a wonderful idea having Knell and Hutchison on the same show. I have been wondering why you have never discussed Bill Knell's videos while chatting with John Hutchison.

I purchased the Thanksgiving interview video on Montauk and Philedelphia Experiment from Bill Knell and have watched it numerous times. I notice during part of the conversation that Al Bielik mentions the name "John Hutchison" as being involved in the projects related to the Philidelphia Experiment.

Heh, at first that had me wondering if there was any relation to that JH and the JH who is famous for the "Hutchison Effect" ... but NOW I have to wonder...IF all that Bielik and Cameron and Nichols say on the video is true, with time travel and inter-dimensional weird stuff going on...could it be that THIS John Hutchison and THAT John Hutchison might be the same man?? :D

Maybe the present day JH is going to discover time travel and go back in time to become involved in the FIRST Philidelphia Experiment.

Hmmmmm (rubs chin)

ghost web sites

By ghostkid at December 7, 2007 - 6:58am | General

I find it funny how alot of ghost sites do not go out in the winter ghosthunting.
They call them selfs paranormal investigators but really all they do is sell junk and run chat rooms and nothing to do with ghost hunting.
They go out 4 times a year in the summer and call them selfs that?
I et so many people asking me to put up a chat room on my site.
See i am a real ghosthunter not a paranormal investigator.
My team and i go out all year round in -17.
How many ghost sites do that ask ur self.
Is there a real school that gives u a real lic for paranormal investigator?
Hummm i run a site called www.paranormalhaunting.com and been doing it now for over 7 years i guess and i love it alot.
We are the real ghosthunters we do it all year round

Thoughts On Kevin DuBrow.......

By ScottL at November 26, 2007 - 11:21pm | General

It's unfortunate that I finally find some inspiration to do some writing here only in the wake of the death of Kevin DuBrow, singer of Quiet Riot......

I was working this morning (11/26/2007) and took a 5 minute eye break to check up on my metal news at Blabbermouth.net. It is my morning ritual and usually it is pretty bland with bands tour dates that I will never see, or news on other bands that I will never check out, but every once and while there will be a story on Motorhead, Celtic Frost, or Obituary that I will read. This morning was obviously different though.....

It jumped right out of the page: "Confirmed: QUIET RIOT Singer KEVIN DUBROW Dead At 52 - Nov. 26, 2007". What the fuck man??? No way??? I read the story and my heart just sunk......

I remember being in 4th grade and coming home one day for lunch in the middle of a school day. Mom L. made me a sandwich and I ran to the TV to rot my brain a little before I had to head back to school. Flicking around I hit "MTV", or "Empty-V" as I like to call it nowadays, you have to remember, they actually played music on the station back then. I hit MTV and was grabbed by some unseen force as this bunch of maniacs were playing their asses off on the screen. The balding lead singer was hopping all over the place and screaming his head off, his white and black striped pants that clung to his skinny frame matched his mic stand, that always stuck out for some reason to me. I had never seen anything like this before it was the wildest thing I had ever been witnessed to. The power of the music, the feeling it had just moved me more than anything I had heard previous to that (Black Sabbath, Def Leppard). It was an awakening!!

I remember my chunky ass running back to school singing "CUM ON FEEL THE NOISE, GIRLS ROCK YOUR BOYS, WE"LL GET WILD, WILD, WILD!!!!!" All the kids on the playground were like "What is that??", "QUIET RIOT YOU WIMPY LITTLE SHITS LISTENING TO YOUR THRILLER ALBUMS!!!!" Yeah, I was just learning how to swear back then....I have since mastered the art much like chemists have discovered new elements. I managed to con my parents into buying me Metal Health and the journey began. I spent countless hours in my basement with that record cranking it on full volume on my parents mammoth Zenith stereo system....You know those ones that you would mistake for a dresser? It had a killer sound though, really full and dense. I would sit there with my ears bleeding reading the lyrics and staring at the mysterious masked man on the cover of the record (yes, record you bunch of iPod carrying sissies). The sessions would usually end with Dad L. coming down the stairs and overpowering the stereo with his voice yelling for me to turn it down. Memories.....

I remember carrying that record with me all over the place and scaring my friends parents with it, I was actually asked to leave one friends house!! I used to play it for show and tell at school, HA!! Used to piss everyone off!! I can remember sitting in my room playing with my matchboxes with Quiet Riot blaring in the background. I remember the first Quiet Riot t-shirt I ever got, I never wanted to take it off! Quiet Riot was always with me in those early years, I truly would escape in that music in the basement of my house in Madison Heights, MI.

Quiet Riot exposed me to a lot of things back then like women (Love's a Bitch), cool cars (Slick Black Cadillac), and the brotherhood of rubbernecks that I am a card carrying member of (Metal Health). Metal Health was just one of those rare perfect albums that stays with you your whole life.....it has. That album made me think about my future while I sat on that couch in my basement staring at my parent’s old lava lamp that was prolly owned by my Aunt from her stoner days. Maybe it was the music, maybe it was the setting, maybe I was just fucked up at that age....but that Rock N' Roll band gave me a soul. So, to anyone out there who has read this and feels what I feel and felt back then.....break out your old records and give them a spin because Kevin's soul is there screaming at you with everything he has, telling you to get off your ass and go crazy, that is the real spirit of Rock N' Roll, and Brother Kevin DuBrow dedicated his life to it.....R.I.P. Kevin DuBrow 10/29/1955 – 11/25/2007

A simple and focused request

By Narabic at October 28, 2007 - 7:27pm | General

Hello folks, I am here to ask for something very specific. Can any of you please offer me audio evidence ( such as DIRECT links to accessing evp samples that are not only clear, but reflect obvious interaction between the incarnate experimenter and the evp source )

Please be sure that what you offer is not a secondary explanation of what I've asked for, but instead, the actual audio material of this scenario.

Thank you !
