Brian Jones Experiment!

By daveamania at October 10, 2006 - 6:50pm | General

WOW! I just listened to the archive of last nights show. I think the experiment with Brian Jones and Dr. Stephen Rorke is going to be great on GT next week. I hope the mystery "fifth person" makes an appearance again. I do have a few questions though for Brian Jones:

1) After picking up or hearing the voice, does Brian experience any other paranormal activity in his personal life. (such as floating objects, mysterious touching, ECT.)

2) Does Brian ever break away from the scientific aspect of the experiment and see if the mysterious voice reacts to any religious points of view?

Later,

OooooKaaaay then...

Hey Doug!

I detect a slightly miffed quality (which is fine) in your posting regarding my comments. I miff people all the time. (The field we use *is* called a comment field, BTW, and not a question field, and by framing my comments as being intrinsically lacking or inappropriate on that score is, I'd suggest, telling of your investment - material and emotional - in this scenario, which is entirely appropriate - naturally - but also indicative.)

Thanks for the clarification re the level mismatching, but - let's be frank - at the end of the day, the users DO need to ride the volume to manually allow them to avoid being blasted by ScottL's clearly-EQ'd basso, whilst trying to examine the quiet incoming voices of the callers. This is fixable, presumably, because it is not endemic to talk shows (or even free-to-air podcasts) at all.

I'm assuming an Innkeeper and Gentner are audio devices (boards)?

Last thing: no, I'm not asking wide-eyed fan questions, but I am drawing attention to (technical & sociological) characteristics of this very interesting show. I'll add another observation (comment) which is that the level-mismatching itself is perhaps material, and that your emotional (not simply technical) response regarding it's apparent unavoidability (which I dispute) may also be a factor for the theoretical dispassionate third-party observer to consider. In other words, if a hoaxing is taking place, could the level mismatching be relevant to technical execution?

And having said all that, I am just loving GT, and keep up the great work!
