Ghostly Talk Paranormal Radio: A Silence That Speaks Volumes

By Ghostlytalk at January 20, 2010 - 4:20pm | Ghostly Talk | News | News

What is becoming of the paranormal community? On the outside, the plethora of ghost reality shows on television and paranormal talk shows on the Web seem to hint that things have never been better. And yet, there are those who believe that our community has lost its way and is now more concerned with fame and fortune rather than serious research. So which side is more accurate? For now, I will choose to remain silent and simply say that, while many people were not aware of it, on October 18, 2009, something happened that speaks volumes as to the current state of the paranormal community—Ghostly Talk Radio went on indefinite hiatus.

It is indeed a sad time for those of us who have a real interest in the paranormal. I am looking forward to your return, and breathing a breath of fresh air back into the field, and bringing the truth back.

Still missin' u guys! You've had a few months already! We need u back!
Seriously, u guys were a weekly part of my routine. I truly do miss hearing all 3 of you each week. I loved the article about u guys though. It's nice to see someone showing u some respect. I agree with u guys regarding tv shows. Another team i know is working on their pilot. My group has been approached a number of times but i'm really not interested. I just want to focus on helping people. Besides, i can't imagine anyone wanting to see my fat face on tv! Lol! Looking forward to hearing u guys again! :-D

Sadly when something becomes popular or mainstream this always happens. People always latch on and try to ride the wave to easy cash, these days everyone owns a haunted B&B and is hocking books and merchandise.

To be honest, I believe what can hurt those of us who love this field so much the most, is when those who are close to us abandon judgement for the sake of fame and money.

Whats even worse is when you come to trust certain people or groups. I used to watch TAPS faithfuly for one reason, I believed them to be honest and eager to help those in need. That was before Grant's jacket pulling fiasco. I've never met them, probably never will... yet still I feelt like my trust had been violated, and for what? Slightly higher ratings?

There are three people I trust in this field when it comes to paranormal research broadcasting... Scott, Doug and Dave Schrader. I'm specially attached to Ghostly Talk, I was laid up for months after I hurt my back, and listening to them got me through a very tough time in my life. It's like missing old friends even though you've never met. :)
