the demon by my bed

The other night I was lying in bed, about to drift off to sleep, when I felt a familliar feeling come over me. I began to kind of tingle all over and became completely paralyzed. I had this feeling a couple of times before, and both times I witnessed a black mass hovering in front of me that went away once I closed my eyes and reopened them. This time what I witnessed was very different.

I knew their was a "presence" in the room, and as I worked up the nerve to turn my head I began to see what only could be described as the classic "white sheet" style ghost standing right next to me. This entity was just standing there, and as I kind of moved my view up, my eyes met "his" eyes. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. Seeing the eyes looking down at me was more than I could take and I started to scream, waking my wife up.

I didn't want to scare her so I told her I had just had a nightmare, but this was very real, there was definitely something there. And I was totally awake the whole time.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I mean, I have a ghosthunting group, and I have never encountered anything like this on an investigation. I told a friend about it and she said she thought it was a demon, but I'm not sure.
