'Electricity Woman with amazing powers' causes lights to flicker when she gets stressed

Nobody wants this to be true more than me. I can not imagine anything sweeter than a world with super heroes.

I am a little surprised though, that this woman is internationally famous. If you have a power that can not be controlled, or even exhibited, what good is it? If you are just wondering around and randomly causing minor damage to electrical appliances, that seems more like the psi equivalent to occasional hiccups. What I am saying is that if she can not even make a flashlight go out while someone is watching, why is anyone paying attention to her?

All that assumes there is any validity to her claim at all. It makes me suspicious that her work is never affected by it. She says her power manifests when she is stressed. Are we to believe her home life is more stressful than her job at a hospital? Could it be that work is just a more controlled situation? At work, it is harder to say things like "I just destroyed the refrigerator with my mind" because when the frig goes down, someone in maintenance has to find out why, and they may have records about the history of problems with it, and then they fix it(if they are good) and say something like "The reason it defrosted is because the mercury switch was out of adjustment"(I am just guessing here that refrigerators have mercury switches in them) so it is less mysterious. She listed all these amazing incidents where she destroyed multiple streetlights and such; you would think that just one time at work they would have had someone's pacemaker go wonky around her or something. I am not saying she is a liar or crazy, just mistaken, maybe. I think I have experienced most of the things she is talking about, but the difference is I do not believe they are caused by a power I have. So they just seem like ordinary events to me. Maybe I am the mistaken one. I need to think about this.

The only way to test her would be to put her in a room and induce stress to see if she could blow out a light or something. Trouble is the stress element always gives her an out to say "well I am not feeling it right now" or something.

Sigh........Where is the Green Lantern when you need him?
