A short posting in reference to the intriguing image discussed by the GT team (Jan 1st?), consisting of the glowing apparition seen at the top of the staircase in the as-yet unidentified abandoned location. The image is unusual in that the apparition is emitting light, with noticeable specular effects upon the banister/railing (although there seems to be no reflection in any possible remaining panes of glass in the far window, now boarded-up), and with what appears to be a true three-dimensional vaporous composition, (complete with wavelets and eddies?). The following is a quotation from ‘In Search Of Strange Phenomena,’ a pocket text by Alan Landsburg, producer of the famous ‘In Search of…’ television series from the 1970’s (famously narrated by Leonard Nimoy). It concerns events witnessed by two relatives of a suicide in their home, following his death. “The living room was situated in the front part of the house. All the window blinds were closed, and there was no light shining through them. The only light in the room came from a doorway behind them, a doorway that led into the hall. Suddenly they noticed a light to their left. It had the brightness of an electric bulb when they first way it. It appeared about two feet from the couch on the mother’s side and was getting brighter and brighter as it moved closer to them. ‘What is is?’ they called to each other, and then Sandra noticed that the light had a form. There was a head and shoulders encased in the light! - 'In Search Of Strange Phenomena,' A. Landsburg, 1977 p.20 |
